Some of the most usefull features of the HPShell are their macro and hotkey abillities. You can create your own macros and hotkeys. Hotkeys are special keys on your keyboard with special functions. It is possible to create a macro with an activity you need very often and then call this macro with a especially defined hotkey. There are lots of examples already defined in the HPShell (e.g. Alt-N : this hotkey calls the macro PROGRAM_NEW which opens a new editor window and puts the HP48 program brackets << >> in it).
